This “children” of Tool are not as much appreciated by the band themselves but well… you canté expect everytone to be as risky and original as this guys. Tool have been frequently cited as an influence by New Metal bands that emerged after this album, in the late nineties and beginning of the 2000s. Many of the songs make reference to social decay, capitalism, boredom and media as some of the worst experiences in human life. Tool narrates the decadence of nineties Californian culture. Also, their music videos for the songs Prison Sex. They won platinum, performed at the main stage of Lollapalooza. In reality, the band accidentally broke in the alt-rock mainstream. They became popular for producing songs with idiomatic meanings. Great tracks such as the progressive Eulogy, the recited evolution scale in Forty six & 2 and the brillant title track Ænima are some of the album´s highlights. Tool is an American band known for their songs. This is an idea that appears in the whole record: some anti-establishment take. As my rating system works, any album that has more than one good song but is less than half good as a whole will receive a 2.0. When an album is 17 hours long like Aenima, the highlights can get lost in a wretched pile of boredom. Album Review: Tool - Aenima Image courtesy According to Wikipedia, Tool's masterpiece, Aenima, was released on vinyl on September 17, 1996, and released on CD on October 1, 1996. Ænima is flooded with anti hollywood spirit it is a product that stands against the same industry that produced it. This is pretty much the lowest 2.0 star I can give. Lateralus- There is no need to buy a bootleg. The first track Stinkfist (censored by MTv as Track #1) says: “I´ll keep digging / Til I feel something”. I would never pay over $60 for it though. While the packaging is not the best, I think this is a excellent bootleg. The quality and tone are very close to the cd. Salival on green and purple marbled vinyl- This one is fucking amazing. The only problems with this record is the 2 second gap between each song and the inner groove distortion. I would not pay over $60 for it.ġ0000 days on blue marbled vinyl- This one does not have very good packaging, unlike Ænima. You can turn the volume up on this record and still have very good highs and lows. Someone put time and effort into this bootleg. Now for the actual music quality, it is pretty damn good. It has both inserts and came with normal white paper inner sleeves. Ænima on green translucent vinyl- I have the Ænima bootleg with the original center labels.
